Whoo hoo!

I am finally starting to shift some weight after a seemingly never ending time on a plateau. This week, I showed a 2.4 loss. It's a MIRACLE!!! Just goes to show that plugging along even though you don't see results for MONTHS does work. The time frame of 104 weeks should have been 401...am I dyslexic as well as chubby?

Last night, I had a chicken sandwich before bed.MMMM good. Today's menu:

Breakfast: eggs, toast, butter, skim milk

Lunch: roast pork sandwich, Activia yogurt, diet pop

Supper: potatoes & cod, some sort of veggies

Snack: veggies and dip, oranges & pretzels

Who says you can't have it all?

Poutine at its finest! As a treat, and because I have 14 Flex points left for the week (weigh in tomorrow morning) I decided that today was the day. The gravy is low fat, made from chicken broth and a bit of flour. The fries are McCains Premium Oven Fries (19 for 140 calories) and the cheese is Our Compliments Shredded Mozzarella, 1/8 of a cup. Put it all together, and you have such an ooey gooey mess of numminess, all for six points! I rounded out my meal with an Activia Raspberry yogurt, and a bowl of crisp carrots and pea pods with two tablespoons of Marzetti's light veggie dip. MMMMM good!

It's WORKING!

Going without the processed meats actually gave me a loss on the scales this morning. Every ounce is a victory, in my opinion! I don't care if it is "JUST WATER!" it is a change in the right direction. I try not to obsess over the numbers, relying instead on how clothing fits at the moment. There have been a few garments that have hit the trash bag this week, and not one of them brought tears to my eyes!

Today's lunch was easy to make with the leftover pork tenderloin. I have been shorting my portions (unintentionally of course) so I am going to use the scale for absolutely every measurement for awhile. Who knew that three ounces of meat was so much in a sandwich! I am preparing chicken breasts both for supper and for tomorrow's lunch. One pan suppers really appeal to me...easy to clean up after, too. I use that SLIDE aluminum foil, and it is just lovely. Nothing ever burns, and it is easy to crumple the foil, and rinse the pan after supper.

Breakfast: Eggs & toast, butter & milk
Lunch: Pork tenderloin sandwich on Oat Hull bread, with Miracle Whip
Supper: Chicken breast, roasted potatoes and carrots
Snack: Veggies and dip, goldfish, three Orange Blossom Cookies

Wednesday

Breakfast: eggs, toast & butter, skim milk

Lunch: Salmon on Oat Hull Bread, Miracle Whip

Supper: 3oz pork tenderloin, baked baby potatoes, tiny green peas & gravy

Snack: grapes, goldfish, toast & peanut butter

I am deep cleaning the house, one room at a time while hubby is away. Contrary to popular opinion, I love putting the house in order! Today, I finished up the master bedroom...the final few drawers are now fitted with new organizers that I found at JYSK for a song. Gone are the boxes that used to house my undies, and in their place? Nifty little folding plastic ones that are uniform in size and colour! The bed is clean from top to bottom...or is that bottom to top? All that is left to do, is to wash the curtains, and finish scrubbing down the new bathroom. Then I can move on to my office. I have been working away at it today, as a lot of the stuff that was sitting around was "shrapnel" from the bathroom renos. It needs a thorough dusting and a good weeding out of the book shelves and files, too. I really do enjoy spending time doing this, so it isn't a hardship at all. I find that my mind wanders down all sorts of forgotten paths, and I make peace with my lot of life. Perhaps this is what is missing in our day and age...the time to polish, and reflect. The time goes by so quickly, that we just don't seem to really relish the here and now, what we have at the moment, until we polish it!

Tuesday

What happened to Monday? Who knows. Today I made up my mind that I am not going to eat processed meat...my beloved turkey pepperoni packs on water weight like crazy, as does the smoked turkey breast. I need to lower the salt. Somehow, I need to find time to roast some meat to have on hand for quick snacks. Once I get into the routine of doing that, it should be okay. It is the final frontier for me, as I have tweaked every other area in my diet. This is my last remaining vice. It is a good thing that it is salad season, too, because a bit of salmon on a salad is quite tasty, especially if you toss in some orange segments. Onion is delish with it too, but raw onion and I do not get along at all, so that is a no go, too!

Breakfast: eggs, toast & butter, skim milk

Lunch: 3/4 cup ginger beef, 1/2 lemon chicken breast, stir fried veggies and 1/2 cup of white rice.

Supper: two oranges, goldfish crackers, but the night is still young...
